Refrigerated Containers

Refrigerated Containers

Refrigerated Shipping Containers, also known as reefer containers, are commonly used for the storage and transport of perishable goods for anything from one-off event hire to more permanent solutions.

These containers can be used as freezer storage containers for frozen seafood, frozen vegetables and ice cream, or for chiller goods such as fresh fruit and veggies; dairy products, fresh-cut flowers, or just about anything that requires strict temperature control.

Dual-Zone Partitioning

Refrigerated containers can be partitioned to include freezer and refrigerated storage sections in the one unit, so you can hold two different temperature zones side by side.

Dry Storage & Industrial Use

When turned off, the insulated walls make the container suitable for dry storage as well. Other modifications allow these containers to be used in certain commercial and industrial applications for the safe storage and transport of resins and chemicals that require exact temperature control.

Modifications

We can fit, fabricate or furnish custom modifications to suit your specific needs, including personnel doors, food grade shelving, and safety and security systems.

Choosing the Right Refrigerated Container for Your Application

Selecting the right unit depends on how and where it will be used. Here is what to weigh up between a transport application and a static site storage setup.

Consideration Transport use Static site storage
Power Needs an uninterrupted power source during loading, relocation and positioning Needs compliant 3-phase power access on site
Clearance Access for loading and transit routes Adequate ventilation clearance around the unit
Access needs Frequent loading and unloading Frequent pallet access, staff entry or workflow space, a high cube may help with air circulation and stacking
Load type Frozen goods need different set points and monitoring to chilled produce or beverages Same principle applies, set points should match the goods being stored

Our team can talk you through site placement, power setup and container configuration to suit your operational and safety needs in WA.

Compliance, Safety and Operational Best Practice

Operating a refrigerated container correctly protects both your goods and your team.

  • Position on stable, level ground for proper door sealing and refrigeration performance
  • Keep the area around the external refrigeration unit clear for airflow and efficiency
  • Check temperature settings and door seals regularly
  • Confirm electrical connections are correct before use
  • Keep documented temperature records if storing food or pharmaceuticals
  • Use lockable doors for secure, reliable cold chain storage
